Beautiful Dawn

She looks beautiful,
Half closed eyes, seeing the greys around,
Deep lashes on them, defining darkness.

As he wakes her from her slumber,
Not with the heat of day, but the calm cool of night.
She opens her eyes ever so slightly,
He knows she’s smiling within, the twinkle in her eyes tell him of it.
And he gently smiles at her, as his shimmering light falls over her.

The breeze flows so gently, for she has turned away,
And he follows her to everywhere she goes.
Growing steadily, as days go by.

He remembers the time he had yearned for her gaze,
But alas she could not see him then!!
And as he grows from a crescent to fullness,
Light pours into her, to further increase her beauty.

Darkness to light, they move together,
Welcoming another dawn together!
